About Christy Broccardo, Digital Media Designer

I am a writer and designer for content marketing, website, social media and email projects. I am Digital Content Manager for a global company, Colour Republic Flowers, a flower farm in Ecuador. 💐 I share the love of flowers through content marketing and performance marketing, and manage analytics across paid and organic channels.

I served as Digital Media Manager for one of the largest trade associations, Illinois Realtors, leading digital communications, social media and email campaigns, and served as web master, leading a major redesign and rewrite resulting in a 5,500% increase in Google search referrals.

As Graphic Arts Manager, I designed the membership magazine, managed print and digital budgets, and managed both a member and a consumer website providing real estate resources and homeownership trends.

I have nearly 10 years experience in healthcare, health and wellness as Senior Visual Communication Specialist for central Illinois' top health care provider, Springfield Clinic. I managed brand standards, digital marketing campaigns and the annual budget for social media and Google Adwords campaigns. I redesigned the website and led a rewrite effort to improve SEO results.

I teach communications and design courses, and served as Associate Director of Web Services, for the University of Illinois Springfield. I designed the campus web site and email communications, and taught the importance of web accessibility and usability, web standards, and consistency in web design and overall branding.

I am a past president of the Association for Women in Communications and spearheaded the chapter recharter to the Mid-Illinois Communications Association (MICA). I serve on the MICA board of directors, served as chair of the national Conference Marketing Committee, and created and managed a social media conference, doubling attendance and fundraising goals. I served as Chair to set up a scholarship foundation so we could help young communicators for years to come.
